This place as truly gone down to the dumps, especially in customer service. I've lived here for almost 7 years. The gate works when it wants to, whether you have a swipe card or a code, and if you call the apartment to get a courtesy officer to help open the gate you can plan on sitting at the gate for a good 30 to 45 minutes unless someone else happens to drive up who has a working card. Also the caliber of people they let move in are sorry with trash and toys laying all over the lawn and playing loud music. If you have a problem, and need to get in touch with the upper level management (i.e. the company who owns Woodmere Apartments at the Lake ) the management will tell you they don't know and will flat out refuse to tell you, especially "Anette" who basically runs around like a chicken with its head cut off claiming not to know whats going on. Although contract agreement stated that they pay for water and garbage, a month after we moved in, they changed thier mind and charged us for water and garbage. Otherwise, it's ok. There's a tennis court and a garden hose for car wash. Lots of birds in the area. Maintenance is not too bad. Microwave broke and maintenance personnel came by after 2 days and replaced it. Door knobs are broken because they claim the newly installed doors don't work with the existing doorknobs.

I stayed in VG when i first moved to montgomery for school in 2004 and didn't know any better. i'm sorry to the staff (who were very nice by the way), but the place is H-double-O-D... HOOD. i stayed across the breezeway from a family of very loud immigrants (unsure of nationality) who were always outside doing something with a bad little boy that went knocking on doors. downstairs from what was obviously a 3000 lb man by the way i could hear every footstep as he walked. downstairs also from this hoodlum that would try to flirt with me everytime i arrived home. downstairs also from people that swept trash over the side of the awning. (i know u must be wondering who in the heck stayed upstairs'' i wondered that too!) wound up getting my car broken into for a CD player that didn't even work. needless to say, as soon as my lease was up, i was up (and out) as well.
as said by the previous poster (who sounds like staff), it is obviously the people in the community that ruin this place. the staff was nice, the buildings/apts themselves were ok... a bit dated but ok. the grounds could have used help. that really isnt a bad area. just the people.... but what can u do'

As a member of the Village Green Apartment Community, I am very pride of the community that we have at Village Green Apartments. Unfortuntly, there are a number of residents and vistors of the community that do not share the same pride as we do. Understand, that the strenght and overall appeal of a community starts with it residents. We are very fair and sometime offer extra concessions (due to the Fair Housing Laws) when we are approving applicates, only to find out that they are not worthy residents. We have witinessed a number of residents that do pay their rents on time, allow there children to destory our playround and pool area, and dump trash throughout the property. We strive to provide a safe, fun community for our residents, but if our residents do take pride in there own dwelling and take action within their families to assure that we have a great community; then what we strive to do as management and staff is in-vain...The energy that has been made to post some of these negative comments, could have been the same energy to make Village Green Apartments are better place...By just sitting and watching these actions, that are claimed through some these comments, does not make for a valid point-of-view; when there is something that can be done about it...The statement was made that Village Green is the "Ghetto", well, if you bring your Ghetto ways and behavior with you from the Ghetto, then that is what your living environment will become...We all can have a wonderful community where ever we live, but the condition of the community depends on its residents and the pride they have for and in their communities.

Frankly, I do not understand how some people get to live in Village Green. I have lived here a long time and would not qualify now if I had to due to the income level requirement. I have never had a problem paying my rent and according to the applications I have seen, all the apartment complexes have ridiculous approval standards which apparently get ignored or adjusted somehow. Anyway, my research indicates this is one of the lower-priced comparable complexes for the ammenities provided---or 'tried-to-be-provided'; because it's true some residents spoil it for all of us-- by stealing, being trashy, or non-considerate of others, etc. What can be done of these undesirables; they have to live somewhere, and somehow some get in/ got in Village Green. (Some of the raters here seem like they were part of the problem). The staff is professionally nice and take no b.s., if you know what i mean which makes it simple to/ for me. The police officers who live on the complex may as well be non-existent to residents as we still must call 911 for any problems of that type. There is no feeling of on-site security. A personal gripe I have is that long-time residents (3 years +) can't get new carpet, even upon lease renewal, which I think is crap. Can't even move to a different unit with better carpet---unless you go thru the whole re-qualification application process. And pay a transfer fee. It doesn't make sense to me to lose good residents because they can't get their old carpet replaced or even get better carpet by moving to a different unit. 3 years is the 'standard' for Village Green to replace carpet between DIFFERENT resident leases (earlier if the carpet was damaged)---but there is NO provision for long-time residents to get 'new' carpet. Oh, unless they pay a transfer fee, and must re-qualify or other similarl requirements. Sometimes carpet cleaning just doesn't do the job. I think this is a nice place compared to similar choices. But I will move (even to higher price complex) when I'm fed up with this carpet issue.

I looked at an 1 bedroom apartment at Turtle Place. It was nice, I liked it and wanted to rent it. I asked about the move in costs. I was told there was no security deposit but an $85 fee for a $500 bond, a $35 application fee and $100 reservation fee. I was told depending upon the results of my credit check they may require an additional "security" deposit. They could not tell me the move in cost until I paid all of the fees and they did a credit check. Needless to say I went elsewhere, where they told me with no problem the move in cost. It seems to be a very nice place but they are more concerned with getting their fees than renting apartments

My husband and I have lived at Turtle Place for the past year and really feel at home there. The neighbors are friendly and quiet. We have never had a problem with any noise. The maintenance is kept up very well, but most of all the management is super friendly and helpful. I highly recommend Turtle Place

We have lived in Vaughn Lakes for approximately 10yrs. During our experience, We've enjoyed the view of several lakes on the property in which we lived with a splash while enjoying two swimming pool areas onsite. The Maintenance supervisor (Mr. Smith) were a excellent provider when it came to the rescue of many of our situations onhand. He always stood on the bond of his word and became a real hero in a timely and professional manner, even in place of his maintenance staff. The Property of Vaughn Lakes is always well kept clean and neatly rennovated. The total staff try very hard to make sure that all our needs were meet in a timely and efficient manner, even though it took patience and time. I have lived here for 2 1/2 years. When I first moved in I was infested with fruit flies, and the office offerd me some quick remedies, it didn't work. They told me it was normal for the area. Finally after exhausting their options, I set off some bug bombs and cleared the problem. The a/c still doesn't work correctly after 15 maintenance calls and 2 years. I had a leak in my bedroom ceiling, so I called the office and they said they will send someone out, and so I waited. Finally, after 1 month of calling them they fixed the roof, but my wall was damaged from the roof leak, needless to say it was another month for that repair.
But it's not all bad, besides the maintenance and office staff, the apt is nice and the area great I feel very safe and have never locked my doors. It is close to the airport, 2 malls, and movie theatres. So after all of this I would recommed the apt due to the good factors outweighing the bad, if you do not mind having to call the office alot. My advise is to stay on top of them and they will get it done

I am a soon to be resident of Sturbridge Commons and want people to know about the wonderful customer service that I have received. Having looked at apartments around Montgomery it became common for me to call a complex and not have them call me back, but not at Sturbridge. I have also been on several tours of apartments with office staff that was either uninterested or just seemed bored, as if it was a bother that I was even interested in wanting to view an apartment. At Sturbridge I was met with a professionalism that far exceeded the standard for Mongtomery Apartment living

I recently moved back to Montgomery and chose Sturbridge Commons to call my home. The grounds are neat with mature trees, and my apartment has lots of space as well as a great floor plan for roomates. People feel safe enough here to get out and walk their dogs in the evening and talk to neighbors. The office staff members are friendly and make you feel at home right away. I am extremely pleased with my apartment and feel I will be calling Sturbridge home for quite some time

The staff is friendly, knowledgeable and professional. They go the extra mile to satisfy clients and tenants alike. They certainly made me feel welcome and right at home from the very start. I cannot imagine living any place other than Sturbridge Commons in Montgomery.
The apartments are modern, large, and spacious. The fireplace in the living room with the high ceilings add the right touch of class. The round tub in the master bath with modern fixtures is a perfect way to end the day. Natural lighting abounds in my apartment. The walls are sound proof and the security is excellent. The grass is always neat and the grounds are clean and trimmed. If you like nature, there is a large pond and tenants are allowed to fish if they choose. There is also a covey of wild ducks swimming in the pond. And seeing wild geese fly overhead on adds a pleasant touch. It is nice to go and sit by the water and contemplate life.
There is the right blend and variety of working professionals, mature and young couples, and families. There are two club houses with high ceilings and fireplaces with large swimming pools. Parking abounds; I even got the attached garaged with automatic door I wanted. Pets are welcome. My cat enjoys looking out the large picture windows, which provides plenty of natural light. There are no surprises or hidden fees. Extra security systems are available if one feels the need in this electronically surveyed area. I have never felt safer.
Shopping centers, cinemas, restaurants and gas stations are plentiful and conveniently located and it is close to the interstate, parks and walking areas. For those with children, good schools are nearby.
I am delighted to call Sturbridge Commons Apartment home!

I lived at PC from 2006 until 2008, until i moved away for school. At the time, I was annoyed by the gate thing {the others aren't lying... they are always janky... either don't work or people just run right through them} & my noisy upstairs neighbors, plus the change in management {don't mean to be rude, but i liked the former staff way better... seemed like they knew how to communicate with people in a respectful manner a bit better than the new people... except Brett, Brett's very nice and professional}. I will agree with some of the other posters... i've seen it get a bit hood over the time that i was there. especially as evidenced by the trash area... i mean is it too much just to walk the trash up the steps'!'
But now that I have left, i really miss my place. it was really nice, modern, and spacious!!! it's hard to find apts with space these days! another highpoint is maintenence... maybe ppl were having problems contacting them (again, some office staff didn't like to relay msgs, and don't get me started about the after hours chick), but once the gentleman showed up, it was great! he even showed me how to fix something if it happened again! I've been gone for at least 6 months now, and i can't speak on what it looks like now, but if u need space and like modern amenities and don't mind the gate thing and the sometimes finicky staff, then this is the place for you! if, however, you need staff that are at your beck and call, then maybe newer communities further east would give you that stellar level of customer service you desire. (don't know about price comparisons though)...

I have been staying here since october of 2007. One week I witnessed someone breaking into a neighbors apartment. The next week they attempted to break into the neighbor below me apartment, but they was unsuccessful, so they broke into my apartment. The very next day, they came back and tried to break into the neighbor to the left of me. A week ago I went into the hospital to give birth, two hours later, they tried to break in again. Thank goodness I never signed a new lease with them. The only security they have is a courtesy officer. The first time my apartment was broken into he was out of town. I am paying $640 for a one bedroom and it is ridiculous to pay this much and keep having to deal with break ins. They still havent fixed the door frame. Air is coming through, but they dont care that I have a newborn. When I called to ask them about moving to a different complex within the company, of course they didnt like it and she also said that it makes them look bad because I didnt sign a new lease!!! Overall, the area is quiet. The grounds are kept nice clean and cut, but I would not recommend this apartment to my worse enemy unless you dont mind people breaking in. If you do decide to move in, please get rental insurance. As far as insulation, I can hear everything that goes on in the apartment behind me!!!

My apartment at Olympiad was almost as big as my house. I have never seen another apartment in town with the same amount of space for the price. My floorplan also was a split floor plan. People not looking for a lake and ambiance should definitely consider Olympiad apartments.

They do lots of activities for us. I won a contest one month and got a gift basket of goodies worth $75.00. I would recommend Hillwood to anyone wanting to live in a great place.

I lived there for seven years and when Mullins took over the complex quickly went to hell. The grounds were not kept up, and it was difficult to get repairs done. They painted over the windows, making it impossible to open them. The manager was surley and flipant in answering concerns. My car was vandilized twice, and as the old residents moved out, the new ones were less than disirable, with loud commotion in the parking lot after hours.

I have lived at Hillwood going on four years and have loved every minute of it. The property is beautiful with big shade trees, and it is kept up very, very well. The apartment is second to none that I have seen in my 15 years of apartment living. I live in a three bedroom which has 1560 square feet!! There is an eat-in kitchen, separate dining room, and the bedrooms are above average in size. In the three bedroom, there are four exterior doors and 14 windows! Mullins provides many activities for the residents throughout the year, the highlight being the holiday buffet during which, Rick, the maintenence engineer deep frys a turkey! The residents are friendly and even if you don't know them, they will wave at you as you drive by. Michelle, the Leasing Director, is very helpful. She responds to any questions or concerns (of which I have had very few), in a timely manner. I would not hesitate to recommend this complex to anyone who desires a peaceful, quiet, and friendly home!

Hello. I am so happy that I chose Festival Apartments for myself and son. The management and maintenance team are great. No matter what time of day or night or the problem, you can depend on this team to take care of the residents. The grounds are always clean and manicured. The pool is crystal clean. Management provides sun lotion and baby diapers to those that forget the items. We had a fun pool party a couple of weekends ago and both adults and children were entertained. I could afford to pay much more for rent(at one of those new apartments) but why throw good money away at one of those new apartments when Festival provides superior service and my home is my home sweet home.

Festival Apartments is the best apartment community in Montgomery. I have lived in several newer apartment properties but I have to say- Festival is the only place I want to live. After my surgery a couple of months ago, I could not drive for about 6 weeks. I do not have family close by so I knew I would have a difficult time maintaining groceries and prescriptions. Not only did Susan and Kim check on me every day but both John and Stephen made sure that I had everything that I needed and sometimes brought me surprises like flowers and ice cream. I have lived at Festival for 6 years now and would not ever consider leaving.

I signed on for a six-month lease and, frankly, if I could take this complex with me to North Carolina...this is where I would move. My apartment is lovely, all appliances in good order and maintenance is quick and responsive. (I even pulled a guy in...saw him as I was going back to my apartment, to show me how to use my fireplace. He turned his cart around, followed me back to my parking space and then came in and demonstrated, okay') For an additional $15/month, I have full sized washer/dryer--works for me. My single complaint: parking - but not for the reasons you might expect. I requested and immediately received a designated handicap space where, despite repeated complaints, my neighbors continue to park (whenever I have the 'misfortune' of having to go out for groceries). The office put in a second handicap spot on my request (now THAT is responsive)...but the neighbors park there too. The grounds are well kept and I enjoy the children playing in the community courtyard. The 2 mins to grocery shopping/bank/post office and 4 mins to hwy 85 'work' for me. If you have kids (I don't), they also have a kids club-with monthly activities for residents with children-I think a nice touch. No one would ever call me easy-to-please (but I am--as long as you do your job). The staff at Central Park does their job--at least that is my experience. If only it wasn't in Alabama...I know where I'd be moving next.

I have lived in Colonial Grand at Promenade for 2 years now. I have enjoyed every minute of it! The location is so convenient to everything. The office staff is fantastic! They are more than to help out with anything you might need. The pool is beautiful. It is a resort style pool with waterfalls. The property is quiet and safe. I accidently left my car door unlocked fro 2 days and did not even realize it, and no one bothered it. Yes, the apartments are a bit pricey, but the price is worth the safety and size of them.

The property manager, Rebecca, can not be trusted. I was not aware my husband had not paid the rent for the month of December. We were scheduled to have moved out by the 5th but had not. I received a letter in the mail on the 20th and immediately went and talked with Rebecca and told her I would ensure the complex got the payment with fees associated with. After the office closed on the 31st, I placed a letter with two post-dated checks stapled to it in the office mail slot to be deposited on my paydays (16th & 30th) and included enough extra money to pay any associated fees. The office was closed on January 1st. Rebecca deposited these checks on January 2nd, called my cell phone later on in the day and left a message that the checks had been deposited earlier. Since she banked at the same bank, the funds immediately came out of my account and now I have bounced checks and almost $500.00 in NSF fees associated with this malicious act. She has absolutely no morals whatsoever.

I wouldnt recommend this place to anyone! The complex itself is beautifyl but management is like vultures on the unknowing. They promised a special for a one bedroom but when i looked at my contract it was more than we agreed. then when we came to move in, out apartment was not ready! There was carpet shelling on the floor, the cabinents werent painted and my fireplace was missing a mantle. we immediately wanted to cancel but the property manager is giving us a hard time, and we havent even stayed in the apartment! we are currently pursuing legal action. If you want to still stay at Cedar Creek after these reviews, beware of the old lady in the office. She is very dishonest! Make sure u ask for the management company name and number, so u will ba able to contact them when u have problems.

Nothing gets done here!
I just moved in and I'm about to move out. Words can't descibe how disappointed I am that I moved into this complex.
I was told the pool would be open on memorial day and just as you mention 2 years ago; It did not open and is still not open.
The manager in the office comes off very sweet but it takes more that just being sweet to be able to get the job done. This apartment complex lacks morals in honesty I would not recommend this place to anyone I know

The apartments are definitely on the small size and the apartment I rented had fility carpeting all the way through. Management did offer to have the carpet re-cleaned, however, it really needed to be replaced. The lights and ceiling fan in the master bedroom were not even working. You would think Management would have fixed that before letting the place! One can definitely hear the pitter-patter of the children/adults overhead if you are unfornate enough to land an apartment on the ground floor. Voices can also be heard through the thin walls.
Be ready for unexpected! Additions to the rent, i.e. garbage collection fees, and increases in rent are not uncommon (at least that has been my experience! I had agreed to a year's lease at a set price and was informed that I could only have a shorter lease, at the end of which I would be required to pay an additional $65.00 per month as the apartment was under new management. Another surprise was the #45.00 per month fee added for garbage collection, which was not part of the original lease agreement. New Management!
As for the staff, the staff were nice enough but the manager was not at all helpful, making my relocation a bad experience. I was not shown any models before hand and was only allowed to see the apartment for the first time after signing the lease and going downtown to put the power in my name. I was relieved to learn that this was not the typical way business is done in Alabama and this was an exception. I found better establishments truly welcome business from newcomers, especially military!
On the positive side, Bell Station does have a swimming pool; albeit small. They also have a club house which doubles as an office for staff, which makes it not as welcoming for tenants and their guests to hang out. It is a gated community in a safe part of town with convenient shopping hearby. There is also assigned parking for tenants. Small pets are welcome and there is a non-refundable fee per pet.
Alas, I ended up moving! Bell Station Apartments will definitely remain one of the negative experiences I have had in Alabama, challenging my recent tour in Iraq.

I am happy here. The people that work here are nice and attentive. I really like having the gate though for the last few months there have been a few weeks where it was not working and they wre having it done over.
They keep this place clean and the gys who do the work on the property and the apartments always seem to be real busy on the property. When there is something wrong in my apartment it gets taken care of pretty quickly.
there is assighed parking here and a couple of times there has been someone in my spot, I usually let it go, but I have seen the staff out towing someone parking illegally in other residents spots a couple of times and they were always on the weekend late at night. I am in a one bedroom and have had to call maintenace on a weekend for a clogged toilet and the lady who is in charge of maintenance here came asap to take care of it for me. She was very nice and did not want me to feel bad for calling her out on the weekend. She said that was her job and considering I have only one toilet that it was an emergency.
The manager has been on maternity leave and the asst manager has been doing a great job. She is always smiling and is super sweet and helpful. I was having my car worked on at the dealership and forgot my house key and she came out late that evening to let me in my apartment and had another key made for me on the spot.
This place is really nice, I have been here almost 2 years and so far I have no reason to leave. I recommended this place to a friend and she is happy too. She lived at The Mark and left because of the noise and there were a lot of problems in her apartment and they would take up to two weeks to fix things. We laugh about it sometimes since she can literally walk across the parking lot to get the maintenance lady if she had to. It is real quiet here. You hardly ever hear a car booming in the parking lot. They are real strict about that here.
I am grateful that I found this place and I would suggest living here to anyone.

I'm not a resident but often visit (and occasionaly overnight)one of my friends who's been living there for 2 years. This residence for sure does not deserve a 5.0 rating and to give some prospective to what has been claimed on this site the last 18 months, I would like to submit following comments:
Management is friendly but only available 5 days out of 7 par week.
The location is very convenient with a nearby Bruno's, several cleaners, banks and ATMs, a bunch of restaurants and a gas station. Even a full YMCA facility and a library are nearby.
The residence is entirely fenced and gated but several vehicles have been broken into over the last 18 months.
The parking spots are well marked and lighting is adequate but not sufficient.
Maintenance is experienced but overworked at times. Landscaping is done once a week but their equipment is old and very loud.
Much dog poop can be seen on the grass around the property. Imagine your children stepping into it while playing.
It's one of the few properties I know with build-in radio-speakers on the living room ceiling but the quality is not good and the sound carries easily into the neighbors' units. This feature is not a bonus but a distinct nuisance/liability!
Water charges are paid by the tenants. Water meters were installed a couple of years ago and managed by a Birmingham utility. The rates are very high. My friend with water usage similar to mine is charged more that 3 times what I pay at my residence further East.
In my friend's unit, the appliances are old, the ceiling fans are noisy and the carpeting is cheap.
Poor drainage on the walkways leading to the front dooors. During and after heavy downpoors, pity the residents whose units are located in the rear.
